Mr. Dickinson is a founding partner and managing director of Dickinson Williams & Company. Prior to forming DW&Co., Mr. Dickinson spent 16 years with Harris Williams & Co., where in 1998 he launched the firm’s lower middle market specialty group, Cobblestone Advisors, which became one of the leading advisors serving the lower middle market. Mr. Dickinson has closed approximately 40 lower middle market transactions, with a cumulative transaction value in excess of $1 billion.

Mr. Dickinson’s background also includes serving as a Corporate Operations Manager for Circuit City Stores, a Division Controller for Cummins Engine Company, and as a co-founder of Document Warehouse, a records management company that was ultimately sold to Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM). Mr. Dickinson also has eight years of software development and related experience in the defense industry.

Mr. Dickinson earned an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and a B.S. degree in mathematics from Hampden-Sydney College. He and his wife have two daughters, and he is active in his church, the Richmond chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and other community organizations.

Mr. Gilmore is a managing director of Dickinson Williams & Company.  He has more than 20 years of middle market investment banking experience and has been involved in more than 60 domestic and cross-border M&A transactions ranging from $5 million to $1.5 billion in value.  He has advised founders, families, management teams, private equity owners, and corporate boards in a broad range of company sale, corporate carve-out, acquisition, financing, and strategic advisory assignments.

Mr. Gilmore’s industry experience includes a wide variety of sectors across healthcare, business services, manufacturing, distribution, and consumer sectors.  Prior to joining DW&Co., Mr. Gilmore was a senior banker at Lincoln International and BB&T Capital Markets.

Mr. Gilmore earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an undergraduate degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Virginia.  He lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife and three sons.

Mr. Williams is a founding partner and managing director of Dickinson Williams & Company, and he has more than 30 years of transactional experience spanning investment banking, leveraged finance, and corporate financial management. Prior to forming DW&Co., Mr. Williams served as a managing director at Cobblestone | Harris Williams, the lower middle market M&A practice of Harris Williams & Co. Mr. Williams also co-founded Custer Williams & Company and Riverside Capital LLC, financial advisory firms specializing in lower middle market transactions.

Prior to founding Riverside Capital, Mr. Williams served as Chief Financial Officer of HALIS, Inc., a publicly traded healthcare technology and services company, where he integrated several acquisitions and managed two divestitures. Mr. Williams also spent seven years providing cash flow based senior and mezzanine debt for Heller Financial’s Corporate Finance Group, worked for the International Treasury Department of RJR Nabisco, Inc. structuring offshore debt and equity financings for the company’s international subsidiaries, and led SunTrust Bank’s West Coast originations and portfolio management activities.

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Williams earned his MBA in International Finance from Georgia State University, and his B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. He and his wife have two adult children.

Mr. Richardson has eight years of investment banking and investment management experience. Prior to joining Dickinson Williams as an Associate, Mr. Richardson was an Investment Manager at The Riverstone Group, a family office holding company that invests across a range of public, private, and alternative asset classes. Prior to Riverstone, Mr. Richardson served as an Investment Banking Analyst and Assistant Vice President at BB&T Capital Markets, providing capital structure advisory services to corporate clients. He began his career as a Financial Analyst at Mercer Capital Management.

Mr. Richardson earned a B.A. in Economics and History from Vanderbilt University, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Mr. Hunter is an Analyst at Dickinson Williams. Prior to joining Dickinson Williams, Mr. Hunter interned as a Summer Analyst at Dickinson Williams, working on multiple M&A sell-side transactions.  He also completed financial internships with RegEd and Teleflex Medical.

Mr. Hunter graduated from North Carolina State University (Poole College of Management) with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Mr. Jackson is an Analyst at Dickinson Williams. Prior to joining Dickinson Williams, Mr. Jackson interned as a Fall Analyst at Dickinson Williams, working on multiple M&A sell-side transactions.  He also completed financial internships with Contango Markets, Lowe Brockenbrough & Company, and Lead Capital Partners.

Mr. Jackson graduated from the University of Richmond (Robins School of Business) with a B.S.B.A. with concentrations in Finance and International Business, and a minor in Chinese Studies.

Mr. Payne is an Analyst at Dickinson Williams. Prior to joining Dickinson Williams in 2021, Mr. Payne interned as a Management Consultant with Impulse Biomedical, providing a product design and go-to-market strategy for a new epinephrine autoinjector in Cape Town, South Africa.

Mr. Payne graduated from the University of Virginia (McIntire School of Commerce) with a M.S. in Business Analytics and a B.S. in Economics and Entrepreneurship.

Ms. Harvell is the Business and Office Manager at Dickinson Williams.  Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Ms. Harvell was a transaction support specialist for Boxwood Partners’ investment and merchant banking activities, served as an executive marketing assistant with Mr. Dickinson and Mr. Williams at Cobblestone, and worked in various support roles at McGuireWoods, an international law firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Harvell graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. in Mass Communications and lives in Richmond with her husband and two sons.
